The team of Restaurant Looks
Chef de cuisine Cas
Cas (28) is our talented young chef de cuisine. He is part of the new generation of young chefs that proffers its own unique vision of what good cooking is all about. Cas himself started out behind the cooker at age 15, talk about passion for food (!). He then took on a number of courses and practical trainings and has worked with several leading restaurants in the country, where he further developed his creative vision. Cas’ cooking is in a traditional French-Dutch vein, but with a unique twist. He creates new and exciting combinations, finds new flavours, is always seeking to get the best quality ingredients, yet aims to serve a wide audience. His creations combine the exceptional with a high degree of accessibility, turning mere eating into a sensation.

Joost Cremers, (31);“ I enjoy cooking haute cuisine style for everybody, for an affordable price. ’’
This lad from Brabant was just 15 years old when he started as a professional cook. He was quickly fed up with just grilling steaks in Oirschot, and wanted more, broaden his horizon. He went to PIVA cooking school in Antwerp. Graduated exceptionally Young and his talent immediately caught a lot of eyes. He was furthermore educated by Michelin star cook Sir Anthony van Dijk in Belgium. This ‘old geezer’ taught him the real French way offcooking. Joost was home sick for Holland and came to Amsterdam. He worked in several renowned kitchens and became a better craftsman. Joost is very creative and always looks for new tastes and beautiful combinations. He is especially known for this creat way of plate dressing. Now he runs his own kitchen with his best ‘mate’ Cas since 2007. Patron Alco
Alco, (32), has a family history in restaurants and cuisine, his career spans from the family restaurant, to international business hotels, to renowned restaurants of great repute. Looks comes after his previous exploit in Amsterdam's Fifteen; a refreshing, innovative concept, but with a distinct warmth and hospitality. Alco: 'The chief distinction between Looks and its contemporaries is that Looks has a less formal atmosphere; here, guests can easily have a chat with the kitchen team. It is important that people feel free enough to fully enjoy themselves, and to laugh. We more than welcome casual attire for our clientele.'
Patron Erik
Erik (33) has a background in television. He has been directing television shows from age 18; initially for public networks, and later mainly for commercial ones such as RTL4 and SBS6. Erik's skill and experience thus mostly lies with building and understanding concepts: 'Television starts out with a formula or an idea, and with the right amount of creative thought this idea can flourish and grow into a structurally sound concept. Its foremost goal is to appeal to a wide audience, we want it to score'. Excitement, quality, humour, and emotions are the buzzwords a television maker seeks. One would say that opening a restaurant would pose an entirely different set of challenges, yet according to Erik there somehow are 'more similarities than there are differences'.
